It easily attaches to the inside bottom of the bass drum shell using Velcro. The hinged pillow bounces off the drum head, letting the sound sustain, and then comes back to dampen the vibrating head. There's also a smaller pad on the other end, useful for smaller drums or when you want less damping.

Using the Evans EQ pad is a breeze. First, find the interior bottom of your bass drum shell. Then, use the Velcro to attach the EQ pad firmly. Once it's in place, the hinged pillow will start doing its job. It'll bounce off the drum head to let the sound ring out and then dampen it. If you have a smaller drum or want less damping, you can use the smaller pad on the opposite end. As for maintenance, keep it clean by gently wiping it with a dry cloth. Avoid getting it wet, as this could damage the materials. Also, check the Velcro regularly to make sure it's still sticky enough to hold the pad in place.
