Using the Alesis V61 MKII is a breeze. First, check that your computer meets the system requirements - you need a standard USB 2.0 port, Windows 8 (x64), or MacOS 10.13.6. Then, connect the controller to your PC or Mac using the included USB cable. It's USB-powered, so it has plug-and-play connectivity. You can start using it right away.
The 61 full-size keys are velocity-sensitive, which means the harder you press, the louder the sound. Use the Octave buttons to access different parts of the piano range. The 8 LED-backlit pads are also velocity-sensitive and have controls for level and note repeat. You can create some really cool beats with them.
The Arpeggiator has 6 modes. Just set the mode you like, use the tap tempo to set the speed, and you can create unique melodies. The 4 MIDI-assignable knobs let you control virtual instruments and your DAW.
If you want to use a sustain pedal, connect it to the 1/4” TS sustain pedal input. But remember, the pedal is sold separately.
When it comes to maintenance, keep the controller clean. You can use a soft, dry cloth to wipe it down. Don't expose it to extreme temperatures or humidity. Also, make sure to keep the software up - to - date by using the included software download card. That way, you can always enjoy the best performance from your Alesis V61 MKII.
