Product Description

The Katana Bass was briefly produced under the Squier brand in 1985. Hama Okamoto, the bassist of the Japanese rock band OKAMOTO'S, has played it on numerous stages. The new Fender Hama Okamoto Signature Katana Bass faithfully recreates Hama's unique customizations and will be released as a limited-time model by Fender. Despite its unconventional appearance, the 'Katana' captivates Hama with its genuine sound. Specifications: Body Shape - Katana Bass; Body Material - Basswood; Body Colour - Shell Pink; Body Finish - Gloss Polyester; Fretboard Material - Rosewood; Fretboard Radius - 7.25' (184.1 mm); Scale Length - 32' (813 mm); Number of Frets - 20; Fretboard Inlays - White Dot; Pickup(s) - Pure Vintage '63 Split Single-Coil Precision Bass®; Bridge - 4-Saddle Vintage-Style with Bridge Cover; Pickguard - 3-Ply Black; Strings - Nickel Plated Steel (.045-.105 Gauges); Tuning Machines - Vintage-Style; Hardware Finish - Nickel/Chrome.

Using this Fender Hama Okamoto Signature Katana Bass Guitar is a breeze. First, tune it up using the vintage-style tuning machines. The strings are nickel-plated steel, so they'll give you a nice tone right away. When you play, you'll notice the authentic sound from the Pure Vintage '63 Split Single - Coil Precision Bass® pickups. For maintenance, keep it in a dry place to avoid damage to the basswood body and rosewood fretboard. Wipe it down with a soft cloth after each use to keep the gloss polyester finish looking great. And be careful with the hardware; since it has a nickel/chrome finish, avoid scratching it. When not in use, you can put it in a guitar case to protect it from dust and accidental bumps.
